Sean Naughton LLB (Hons) | Senior Partner
After working for a number of Legal 500 firms Sean founded Naughtons Solicitors in 2009 and it is now established as a leading legal practice in the North East of England.
Sean Naughton has obtained a wealth of experience in the fields of personal injury and civil litigation. He has obtained compensation for hundreds of the clients he has acted for who have suffered personal injuries. Sean also practices in the area of Family Law.
As the Senior Partner of Naughtons Solicitors LLP, Sean oversees the management and running of the practice. He also supervises all the staff employed by Naughtons Solicitors on a day to day basis.
FUN FACT: Outside of work Sean is keen on sporting activities and recently passed the Open Water Scuba Diving Course and obtained his Professional Association of Diving Instructors licence.
Gavin Mills LLB (Hons) | Partner
Gavin began working for the firm in 2013. He was then promoted to Team Leader in 2014 and became a Partner in 2016. He assists with the running of the practice and supervision of staff.
Gavin specialises in Personal Injury and Conveyancing matters and has previously worked for a number of leading firms in the North-East.
Interesting Fact: Outside of work Gavin is keen on long distance running and amateur dramatics.
Claire began her legal career working for the Local Authority in their Legal Services Department. She was then employed by a leading North-East high street firm in 2009 as a Trainee Solicitor until she qualified and was admitted to the roll of Solicitors in 2011.
Claire joined the team in May 2015 and became a Partner in April 2017. Claire specialises in Personal Injury claims and has the required skills, knowledge and experience to deal with high value claims. Claire also specialises in Employment Law, Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) claims, Landlord and Tenant Disputes, Housing Disrepair Claims and Holiday Sickness Claims.
Local to Seaham, Claire is passionate about working in her local community and has a friendly and down to earth approach when advising clients.
Interesting Fact: Claire enjoys singing and once auditioned for the ITV series ‘Pop Idol’.
Sylvia Rosher |Head of Accounts
Sylvia has great organisational and financial management skills. She is responsible for audits and the financial management of the practice.
Sylvia has over 25 years of experience working in law firms and her knowledge has been one of the crucial parts to the success of Naughtons.
Interesting Fact: Sylvia is heavily involved in charity work and once laid in a bath full of cold baked beans after walking across every bridge in London.
Lizzie Rosher | Office & Accounts Assistant
Lizzie is the smile of Naughtons Solicitors. She is the first face that will welcome you when entering our office.
Situated on our reception desk, Lizzie’s main roles include answering the telephone, managing the firm’s administration, assisting fee earners and assisting the accounts department.
Interesting Fact: Lizzie is originally from London and has spent the last 12 years settling in the North East after completing her studies at Sunderland University.
Leann completed her studies at the University of York in 2000. She went on to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and a Master’s Degree at Durham University. Leann worked as a teacher for 12 years before leaving her post as Key Stage One Team Leader in 2012 to raise her young family.
Leann joined the team at Naughtons Solicitors as a Litigation Executive. Her main roles include conducting research, liaising with Counsel, drafting documents and assisting other members of staff with more complex high value cases. Leann is very much enjoying the change in her career.
Interesting fact: Leann has been swimming with sharks, dolphins and turtles on her travels around the world.
Helen Kay PhD PgDip in Law | Consultant Solicitor firstname.lastname@example.org
Helen is an employment law specialist and has joined Naughtons as a Consultant Solicitor.
Helen has previously worked as an employment lawyer for two of the leading commercial law firms in Newcastle, before opting to become a consultant to allow her more flexibility both in the way she works and delivers her services to clients.
She is experienced in all aspects of employment law and advises both employers and employees, and is noted for her honest and straightforward approach and her excellent client service.
Interesting Fact: Helen is a keen hill walker and likes nothing better than getting her camera out and her walking boots on and getting out into the wilds. Her favourite place is the Valley of the Ten Peaks in Canadian Rockies.
